1 arrested, 1 at large after Crisp Co. high speed chase ends with wreck and manhunt in Sumter Co.

CORDELE, Ga. – Crisp County deputies attempted to stop a vehicle on Highway 280 in Crisp County. After initially stopping, the vehicle fled into Sumter County at a high rate of speed. Sumter County successfully deployed stop sticks, causing the driver to wreck on Highway 280, west of District Line Road. Both occupants then fled the vehicle into nearby woods. One person has been arrested, while the other remains at large. Contrary to circulating rumors, no shots were fired during the incident.
