Zoo Atlanta reopening May 16

ATLANTA, Ga. — Having transitioned to a timed ticketing system to limit the number of patrons in the zoo at any one particular time, Zoo Atlanta announced on its website Thursday the zoo will be reopening Saturday. The website reads that zoo officials have implemented procedures and protocols that visitors will notice in an effort to protect the health and safety of zoo staff, animals and visitors.
Tickets can only be purchased online, and only paperless transactions can be made within the park. Guests are strongly encouraged, but not required, to wear masks and to take full advantage of hand sanitizing stations located throughout the zoo. Social distancing is also strongly encouraged through one-way pathways where feasible and postings noting proper places for standing to view the animals or proper distances to maintain at purchase points. With the exception of restrooms, all buildings are closed to the public but food and gifts will be sold at outdoor kiosks which have been positioned to allow for distancing.
