Warwick celebrates first Christmas Eve tradition
(WARWICK, GA) – After a generous donation from the Lake Blackshear community, Warwick Mayor, Juanita Kinchen is proud to say that her hometown finally has a Christmas tradition to call their own.
But despite some severe weather and cold, they were still going strong.
“We were one building form finishing up and we’ve got it done. And we wanted everyone to come out, but we didn’t know it was going to be pouring buckets of water of rain,” said Kinchen.
Regardless of the delay from severe weather, the city has finally been decorated for the first time in decades, and lifelong residents are excited that their neighbors won’t have to go far.
Mayor Kinchen has already said that they want to keep doing this for years to come
She tells us, “It will be the first tradition for Warwick for us to have the drive-thru. And iIm just so overwhelmed that god allowed us to get this done.”
But for Mayor Kinchen, to have her hometown decorated like this means so much to her after the Blackshear community was able to lend a hand to Warwick.
“I really know that what’s happened to Warwick to me is still a blessing. It got to be decorated and try to lift the spirits of people,” says Mayor Kinchen.
As those who live in the community of less than 400 may not have had their usual christmas, they now have their own tradition in their home town.
