Upcoming farm equipment auction to benefit Baker County Schools

BAKER COUNTY, Ga. – Baker County Schools is set to have a farm equipment auction March 6.
Local farmers looking to sell farming equipment can do so all while giving back to the school system.
Baker County Schools Principal, Boyd Williamson says the money from the auction will benefit students and teachers.
“I will be able to do things like student incentives that we can’t use tax money for. I could use it on teacher incentives as well, teacher bonuses. If a student is in need of new jeans or a sweatshirt, I could use money from the auction to provide things like that.”
The auction is a win-win for farmers looking to clean up their yards or sell unused equipment, and for Baker County Schools to bring in some extra funds.
Consignments are accepted from Feb. 22 to March 5. Principal Williamson hopes to have a big turnout.
“There’s only a little over 3,000 people in the county but we already have a couple thousand wanting to come to this.”
The farm equipment auction is presented by Weeks Farm Machinery and people seeking more information can contact Principal Williamson at bwilliamson@baker.k12.ga.us or head over to weeksfarmmachinery.com.
