Tyreek Hill returns to Douglas for annual youth football camp
DOUGLAS, GA – Former Coffee High and current Miami Dolphins wide receiver, Tyreek Hill, returned to his hometown of Douglas over the weekend to host his annual youth football camp.
The former Coffee Trojan is always taking a trip back to his old stomping grounds, and Saturday was no different as his annual camp saw kids from 6-17 years old working on the basic fundamentals of football: route running, 1-0n-1 drills, tackling, footwork drills, and endzone situations.
But Hill likes to have fun too, so he made sure to incorporate some of the fun activities such as tag and tug-of-war.
The Douglas native says the goal of his camp is to teach the kids the proper way of playing football by telling them what they’re doing wrong, and trying to get them better on their techniques.
But the biggest goal for Hill was to help teach the youth that football can also help them in life.
“Football has taught me a lot of things in life, a lot of core values that I use in my life every day,” Hill said. “Teamwork, social skills, being able to be in different cities. Football taught me a lot.”
