Turner’s I-75 rest area closes temporarily
GDOT says a resurfacing project will shutter traveler refuge for rest of the week
ASHBURN, GA – Interstate 75 resurfacing of the southbound outside/right lane will temporarily close the Turner County rest area this week.
Weather permitting, the rest area will be closed Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 3 and 4. Updates will be posted at www.facebook.com/GDOTSW and twitter.com/GDOTSW if the work has to be postponed.
A contractor is milling and resurfacing about 10 miles of I-75 from south of Hat Creek to State Route (SR) 159 in Turner County. The construction contract is approximately $16.8 million.
