ASHBURN, GA – Tuesday night’s storms left their mark across much of South Georgia, but one area farmer recovers in a Gainesville, Florida hospital tonight, fortunate to survive.

Friends and family of Wray Reid told us Wednesday afternoon that he’s in critical stable condition after suffering a broken neck.

Reid was caught in the storm while he worked in an outbuilding that was torn apart by the winds and was struck by swirling debris.

Remnants of the metal roof and building can be found strewn across much of his Turner County farm.

Neighbors tell South Georgia Television News that Reid was first transported to Tifton where he was later airlifted to Florida for this morning’s emergency surgery.

Reid’s daughter adds her father is currently sedated as doctors address his head and neck injuries.
