Today’s pets are in urgent need of help

CORDELE, Ga. — The future is not so bright for four dogs at the Cordele Animal Shelter. Si, Shelby, Nelly and Bubba face an unknown future if they are not rescued or adopted today. Read their bios below; each would make a great addition to your family!

Si is a stray that came in and then his owners wound up signing him over to the shelter. He’s now available for adoption or rescue. An 8-year-old male mixed breed, he is heartworm negative and walks on a leash. He did want to be dominant when dog testing, but turned right around with the same dog and was being submissive. Si’s previous owner stated he would be better being an only animal and with bigger kids as smaller kids make him nervous.

Shelby is a heartworm positive, mixed breed owner surrender who just wants to play and be loved. She is a little skittish, but is a sweet girl; she wants to play with other dogs and cats. Her previous owners report that she is good with children.

Nelly is a stray that was never claimed and is now available for adoption or rescue. She is a 3+-year-old Dane mix and is a taller, heavy girl weighing 78 pounds. She is heartworm positive and frightened to be on a leash. She did okay with cats and one other dog but would prefer to be the only doggie in your life. The pictures really don’t do this beautiful girl justice.

Bubba came in from another county and is now available for adoption or rescue. He is a 5+ year old male bully who is heartworm positive and dog selective. He did well with a young female but wouldn’t be happy living with a male or aggressive dog. He was friendly when meeting a cat, though! This sweet boy needs a new furever home, and is waiting for you at the Cordele Animal Shelter.
