Tift’s Scott on Russia invasion of Ukraine
Thursday night statement on military movements beyond breakaway separatist held areas

WASHINGTON, DC- Thursday evening, Georgia’s U.S. Congressman Austin Scott (GA-08), as a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee, released the following statement in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine:
“Innocent people are dead in Ukraine due to power-hungry Vladimir Putin’s obsession with recreating the former Soviet Union. For weeks, the world has watched Russia’s military build-up on Ukraine’s border. I am disgusted by the unnecessary loss of life in Ukraine we have seen so far. I am praying for all Americans who were unable to get out of the region in time, and I urge the State Department to help. I am also praying for the brave people of Ukraine who are fighting and dying on the front line of freedom.”
