Tifton group to give away 500 pairs of shoes Friday

(TIFTON, GA) – A Tifton native is giving away hundreds of shoes to kids in need tomorrow.

Travis Williams, alongside his cousin, Priscilla Prince will be giving away more than 500 pairs of shoes to Tift county children Friday morning across multiple locations.

Williams says that as they’ve been handing out meals to help food insecure children in the county he noticed that many of these kids didn’t have shoes and were walking on hot pavement.

Williams told us Thursday morning, “It broke our hearts to see that. And so God placed this decision in our soul and spirit, and we said ‘we’ve gotta do something’. We’ve filled their bellies, but now we’ve got to get something on their feet, you know.”

Shoes will be given out across five locations starting at 9 A.M. and running until 2 P.M.

Locations will include the following:

-Brookfield Mews Apartments
-Maple Street
-Copeland Park
-Dees and Peters Apartments
-Old Omega Road
