Tifton Fire Department opens Citizen Fire Academy registration
TIFTON, Ga. – The Tifton Fire Department is giving residents a behind-the-scenes look at firefighting with the launch of its upcoming Citizen Fire Academy.
The program is open to adults and will run from March 24 through May 12, with classes held every Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the department’s main station on Forrest Avenue.
Participants will learn a variety of skills, including fire behavior, search and rescue, EMS services, fire hose operations, and vehicle extrication. A graduation ceremony will be held at the conclusion of the academy.
