Tift County Schools in the ‘green’

Students

TIFT COUNTY, Ga. – Tift schools moved to a ‘green’ designation beginning Monday.

The school district has been in the ‘yellow,’ meaning that students were split into a rotation schedule having face-to-face instruction on Mondays and Wednesdays only.

When in the green, Tift County students return to a more traditional schedule, having face-to-face instruction Monday-Friday.

After receiving encouraging COVID-19 data from the Department of Public Health, school district officials feel like it was the right move.

“It’s going to be a challenge because as we add more kids to the mix us being able to make sure that we can socially distance them is going to be our first priority, so for us, we are really looking forward to having the kids back into the building,” says Tift County Superintendent Adam Hathaway.
