BAKER COUNTY, Ga. – Graduation is quickly approaching for high school seniors.

The Baker County School System announced today that their seniors will have the opportunity to participate in a graduation ceremony despite the COVID-19 pandemic… the ceremony just won’t look or feel like a traditional graduation.

Principal Boyd Williamson says the ceremony is going virtual.

“Graduation will be Friday May 15 at six o’clock and will be broadcast on Facebook live. We will film and broadcast the entire event. And graduates, that may bring up to four people of their choosing will be led through the gym on a schedule. We have to keep it less than 10 people in that gym. The graduates will remain in their car until their turn on the schedule, they’ll be prompted by a school official that it’s their turn following that schedule.”

Williamson also announced that cap and gown pick up will be drive-thru style at the school on April 30th
