The First Bank Donates $87,500 to Colquitt Regional Medical Center

MOULTRIE, GEORGIA – The First Bank recently presented Colquitt Regional Medical Center with a $87,500 check to help with several ongoing capital projects.

The Georgia Rural Hospital Tax Credit program provided these funds. This program was established in 2016 in response to the growing number of rural hospital closures since 2008.

The vast majority of rural hospitals, including Colquitt Regional, have faced significant financial challenges and reimbursement cuts. The Georgia General Assembly established this program in 2016 to help these hospitals grow and expand healthcare services during times of economic hardship.

In 2022, The First Bank was one of 278 Georgia taxpayers who chose to redirect their Georgia income tax liability to Colquitt Regional. Colquitt Regional President and CEO received the check.
