Sylvester Highway fatal pedestrian identified

Dougherty County Coroner's Office identifies deceased as 46 year old Maria Reighard

ALBANY, GA – For the second time in a week, Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler is conducting an autopsy on a pedestrian fatally struck by a motor vehicle.

The office confirming the latest victim as 46 year old Maria Reighard.

Reighard was hit a little after midnight Sunday morning in the 3700 block of Sylvester Highway.

The driver who struck Reighard reportedly called police and tried life-saving CPR on scene.

Police say when they arrived the victim was deceased.

No charges are expected to be filed in the fatal accident.
