ALBANY, GA – Albany Police say one of two people shot during Wednesday’s lunch hour occurred during an intended drug transaction that turned into a robbery attempt and shooting.

Police say it was around 12:30 in the 1600 block of Cromartie Beach Drive when they got the call, responding to the scene and found Montrell Hodge with a gunshot wound to his wrist.

Officers say Hodge admitted trying to sell marijuana when the suspect tried to rob him.

Police say they found and confiscated an unloaded handgun from Hodge during their interrogation.

It’s unknown whether the victim will be charged for possessing the handgun.

As of now, no arrests have been made in the case.
