Strong storm results in down traffic lights, tree and power lines down

ALBANY, Ga. – A severe thunderstorm moved through Albany Sunday afternoon resulting in traffic lights down at the intersections listed below, according to Dougherty County Emergency Management.

  • S. Slappey Blvd/W. Gordon Ave.
  • S. Slappey Blvd/W. Highland Ave.
  • S. Slappey Blvd/ W. Whitney Ave.

On Gillionville road and N. Slappey, traffic lights are in flash mode.

That same storm is also the cause for wires that are down at Jones Ave. and Colquitt Circle after a tree fell down in the backyard of a home at their backdoor at 800 Colquitt Ave. The residence there still has power.
