Special Response Team assisting local law enforcement with barricaded individual

CRISP COUNTY, Ga. – Crisp County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team is assisting the Cordele Police Department in an ongoing investigation and situation with an individual that is barracaded in a house located on Oak Avenue in Cordele.

Witnesses are telling South Georgia TV News that shots have been fired. It is believed the situation began around 4 A.M. this morning when Cordele Police Department responded to a call.

At this posting this is an active and ongoing situation. Law Enforcement urges citizens to please stay out of the area. South Georgia Television will update as we learn more.

Update: 2:03 ET: This situation is still ongoing. Although there is a report of shots fired, no injuries have been reported at this time.
