Southwell Medical Center in Adel offering Drive-Thru vaccine clinic
(ADEL, GA) – Southwell Medical Center in Adel has been packed as they’re offering the Moderna COVID-19 vaccinations through mid February.
For people in Cook County, it means not having to hit the road for Albany or Moultrie, to get better protected.
“…To be able to get the vaccine here, close to the home makes it convenient for them. And also, the people who are coming in are telling us how relieved and thankful they are to be able to get it, because they’re so worried about getting the disease,” says Southwell Chief Operating Officer, Carol Smith
Like the rest of the Peach State; only frontline workers, and seniors 65 & over can receive the vaccine.
Everyone we spoke to had nothing but positive reviews.
“We really had nowhere else to go except our home community. And for them to set this up, it’s wonderful. It’s great,” says Adel’s Walter Taylor.
David Cornelius, who drove from Nashville to receive a dose of the vaccine tells us, “We would’ve had to have gone to either Tifton or Albany, cause they don’t have one over in Nashville. I don’t think they’re giving shots over in the county we’re from. So this is really convenient for us.”
And a literal lifesaver for South Georgia.
