Small businesses can apply for SBA loan amid COVID-19 closures
(SYLVESTER, GA)- With help ranging from Locate South Georgia, the state’s Chamber of Commerce, and the Small Business Administration, small businesses across the state can apply for a loan of up to $10,000.
In Worth County, hundreds can now apply for that loan to pay their employees.
“Just for Sylvester-Worth county, we have over 400 small businesses alone…And I mean you want to help keep those 400 business employed, because they employ employees in your community, and you want to make sure this trickles down to them as well,” says Worth County Economic Development Authority Executive Director, Karen Rackely.
As many businesses deemed as “non-essential” are forced to close their doors for the time being, getting this help from the stimulus is much needed.
In Worth County’s case, they don’t want to see someone lose all of their hard work.
Rackley tells us, “I think it hurts everybody. What you’d call ‘essential’ or ‘non-essential’ the way our stance is that all of our businesses are essential. In the sense that they boost your economy and make it what it is today.”
With the proper channels open to receive a loan to help small businesses across all counties, Rackely, along with many others are thanking every rank of elected officials for coming together to help small businesses.
She says, “I mean, they worked hard for this to make it come down the pipeline to us, and everybody ought to proud of the product they produced.”
