Showing love in Lowndes: Kenny Moore returns to Valdosta for charity game
VALDOSTA, GA – Valdosta native and Indianapolis Colts cornerback, Kenny Moore, took a trip to his stomping grounds over the weekend to host his first ever Love One celebrity softball game. A game where not only some big names were able to show off their skills, but a community event aimed at bringing fans and celebrities together for a night of fun and entertainment, while supporting the Love One Foundation and giving back to the community.
“It’s always surreal coming back home,” Moore said. “I graduated 11 years ago so every time I get back to the community is always great man. It’s always great to feel love.”
“Along with Moore, Baltimore Ravens Wideout and Tift County alum, Rashod Bateman, was there trying to knock out some homeruns, along with Moore’s fellow Teammate and Albany State alum Grover Stewart.
“It feel great to be out here in front of everybody,” Stewart said. “Seeing them cheer, seeing them come out to support Kenny and seeing all the teammates and everybody come out to support his community is a great feeling.”
The Love One Foundation was created by Moore to help families and individuals overcome hardships by providing them with the tools needed to achieve success and fulfill their dreams. All the proceeds from Friday’s game went straight to that foundation.
“I came up with Love One just to help people become the best version of themselves,” Moore said. “I’m looking forward to doing a lot more throughout Indianapolis, but here in Valdosta we’ll see what we can stir up as far as education.”
