Sexual Offender Registry violation leads to warrant in Ben Hill County

FITZGERALD, GA – Registrar G. Rimes, of the Ben Hill County Sheriff’s Office Sexual Offender List, was contacted by the Department of Community Supervision on Wednesday with regard to a sexual offender illegally residing at a residence on Wilson Avenue.

Rimes learned that the offender had an extensive criminal history that includes convictions for sexual assault, kidnapping, rape, impersonating an officer, and failure to comply with the Sexual Offender registry.

Major Thompson obtained a warrant for the offender’s arrest. The offender had left the home where he was living, but was served with the warrant later that day. This is the fourth Sexual Offender Registry Violation arrest made by the BHSO SOR Unit/Uniform Division in 2022 thus far.
