Self-isolation time can be used to fill out 2020 Census on Census Day

COLQUITT COUNTY, Ga. – Wednesday is National Census Day and local community leaders are reminding people that they have a crucial role to play.
Filling out the 2020 Census determines what the next decade will look like for your community; your roads, healthcare, schools, representation and more.
Compliance director for the Colquitt County Board of Commissioners, Justin Cox, says residents should take some time today to fill out the form.
“It takes six minutes, it was nine questions, you can do it online for the first time this year, you can get it filled out over the phone or you can mail it in the old fashion way but people are at home quarantined and looking for something to do, fill out your Census form.”
Based on numbers from 2010, around $2,100 is allocated per person, per year. That means over the 10 years the Census is performed, one person is worth around $21,000 in federal dollars.
