Second round of economic relief for non-profits coming to SWGA

SOUTHWEST GEORGIA – United Way of Southwest Georgia is now accepting applications for their COVID-19 Community Relief Fund’s second round of funding.
Nonprofits that are responding to individuals’ needs as a result of COVID-19 are encouraged to apply.
$72,000 of economic relief was awarded from the first round of applications to qualifying non-profits.
United Way of Southwest Georgia’s Community Relief Fund is a fund created to provide support for organizations that work with people and communities who may be most affected by COVID-19.
This includes agencies who support individuals and families with access to food; supplementing lost wages and/or housing costs or serving vulnerable populations such as seniors and/or homeless.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
In order to be eligible for funding, agencies must meet the following criteria:
- Must be 501©3 organization.
- Must provide services in the United Way of Southwest Georgia’s geographic territory including: Dougherty, Lee, Mitchell, Randolph, Sumter, Terrell, and Worth.
- Must provide services that address immediate response relief efforts in response to COVID-19.
- Requests need to focus on first responders and/or support for vulnerable populations– (examples could include seniors, children, homeless, low income displaced workers, and those without other resources).
