Search resumes for Albany’s missing swimmer
Albany Police identify man sought as 22 year old Therrond Ransom

ALBANY, GA – The search resumes this morning for the man who went missing yesterday while swimming the Flint River.
Rescue crews called off their search for the 22 year old man, now identified as Therrond Ransom, a little after 8pm last night.
Albany Police say they received the call around 4:25 Wednesday in response to a possible drowning near the Oakridge Bridge.
It was there officers met with Ransom’s swim partner, Tynice Wade.
Wade says Ransom went underwater and did not resurface during his second attempt to cross the river.
Albany Police say officers from Georgia’s Department of Natural Resources will be called in to assist with today’s search and will bring additional resources.
