Remembering Shy-Shy Pate

Saturday, Dooly County is set to mark the 23rd anniversary of Unadilla girl's disappearance

UNADILLA, GA – September 4th, 1998 is the date etched in Veronica Pate’s memory, as it was the last time she saw her 8 year old daughter Shy’Kemmia Pate.

The girl’s disappearance and ensuing mystery has hounded her family as well as Dooly County Sheriff’s detectives, who are still investigating the unsolved missing persons case.

Saturday afternoon, a balloon release will be held in her memory, with family and friends welcome to attend.

It’s set for 1pm where Shy-Shy was last seen, near the family’s home at Crumpler Avenue and West Street in Unadilla.
