Radium Springs Trailhead receives additional funding

(RADIUM SPRINGS, GA) -As part of the Dougherty County 2021 fiscal year budget, the work on the Radium Springs trails is moving forward.

Commissioners announced that more a million dollars will be set aside to finish the radium springs garden trail linking the rural community to downtown albany.

County Commissioner, Anthony Jones says that after severe weather over the years and now the pandemic, getting the trail finished could provide a needed outlet.

“That’s going to be a great opportunity for the citizens to enjoy. Especially since COVID-19 has everybody inside, so they’ll be using that trailhead to get a lot of exercise and have a lot of fun out there,” says Jones.

The continued funding is going towards repairing wall foundations and replacing unsafe pavement.
