Rachel’s road to freedom goes through Tifton

Our first Adopt a Pet profile finds refuge in Tifton from Cordele's Animal Shelter
Rachels Release

CORDELE, GA – “Rachel has left the building.”

The words resonated through the Cordele Animal Shelter and the South Georgia Television Newsroom this afternoon, as the abandoned, 3 year old, heartworm positive pit-bull was taken by Tifton’s PawsFurever rescue group.

Rachel was the first of many dogs and cats we’ve profiled, in the hopes that each finds their forever homes.

We’re told that Rachel will undergo her planned heartworm treatment over the next few weeks while staying at the Tifton facility.

Rachel has racked up over $700 in pledges from well-wishers, who donated money to fund her medical treatments.

Friends of Cordele Animal Shelter were quick to thank Candice Bennett of PawsFurever for giving Rachel a new leash on life.
