AMERICUS, GA – Georgia Southwestern softball swept Albany State in a doubleheader on Tuesday during their annual cross-town rivalry game.

Lady Canes won game one 9-3, and defeated the Lady Rams 13-7 in game two.

Game two was more back-and-forth, however, as the Lady Rams took their first lead of the series in the top of the fifth inning when Olivia Mason crushed a 3-run homerun to make it 6-5.

The Lady Canes responded with eight runs in the bottom of the inning, however, as they would go on to win their 20th straight game versus the Lady Rams in school history.

GSW (21-26, 6-15 Peach Belt Conference) will travel to USC Aiken over the weekend to wrap up the regular season, while ASU (27-11, 15-5 SIAC) will travel to Fort Valley State.
