ALBANY, Ga. – “The past few months have been extremely difficult for our country, we have seen America at its worst and we have seen America at its best,” said Phoebe Putney Health System President and CEO Scott Steiner during Phoebe’s “Moment of Solidarity.”

Phoebe officials say they wanted to publicly recommit to their “founding principal” which they say is “equality.”

“Now more than ever it’s important for us to remember that founding principal and to come together to support each other to express our solidarity and to fight for any group who are overlooked, underserved or mistreated.”

Faith Causbey, a nurse practitioner at Phoebe Main says the moment of solidarity made her emotional. When asked about how she felt she said, “Overwhelming, overjoyed, excited about change.”

Causbey has been working with the hospital for 11 years and she says she’s proud of the health system for taking a stand.

“I have never been so proud of this organization as I was with the coronavirus because we stepped up to it and this just takes it to a different level for me.”

Phoebe has been serving the community for 109 years and Steiner says the hospital system will continue to do so, together.

“We stand united as a community and we are reminded that together we rise.”
