Pedestrian dead in collision

Accident happened Friday night in there 300 block of Oglethorpe

ALBANY, GA – Albany Police continue their investigation into a late Friday night fatal collision between a vehicle and pedestrian.

Police have identified the deceased as James Toomer.

Police say shortly after 11 Friday night, Toomer was crossing East Oglethorpe when he was struck by a 2004 Chevy Tahoe.

Police say the driver of the vehicle, identified as Sharon Darley, stopped after realizing the vehicle struck something.
