WASHINGTON, DC– Georgia’s U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is pushing to confirm Shalanda Young as Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

The Office of Management and Budget oversees the implementation of the President’s agenda across the Executive Branch and administers the federal budget.

In a U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee meeting this week, Sen. Ossoff spoke in support of Young’s nomination and voted to advance her nomination out of committee to the full U.S. Senate.

Young currently serves as Acting OMB Director and, if confirmed, would become the first black woman to hold the position of Director of the OMB.
