ALBANY, Ga. – The Dougherty County Police Department, along with Albany Technical College Police and community partners, hosted a successful “Operation Easter Egg Rescue” event Saturday at Radium Springs Gardens.
The family-friendly event brought together residents from across the county for an afternoon of Easter-themed fun and community engagement.
Organizers say more than 4,500 Easter eggs, including additional donations from Project Hope and Harmony, were distributed during two organized egg hunts for children of all ages.
Families also enjoyed music, bounce houses, hayrides, games, and food vendors, along with photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny.
A highlight of the event included special prize eggs that could be redeemed for Easter baskets, as well as a sponsored “money machine,” where selected children had the chance to grab as many dollar bills as possible. Funds collected were matched by Project Hope and Harmony.
More than 30 volunteers helped make the event possible, while law enforcement officers were on hand to interact with families and strengthen community connections.
Officials thank all sponsors, volunteers, and community members who helped make the event a success.
