One caught, another sought in Moree’s burglary attempt

ALBANY, GA – We’re getting more details in Tuesday’s attempted burglary at a Dougherty County convenience store on Moultrie Road.

Police say they arrested 28 year old Jacob Hercula on two misdemeanor loitering charges and two felony counts of possessing tools in the commission of a crime as well as criminal damage to property in the second degree.

Officers responded to a potential burglary call around 2am Tuesday and encountered two suspects, one being Hercula.

The second suspect reportedly shot at an officer as he fled the scene and is still at large.

A surveillance photo of the second suspect has been distributed to the community.
