NAMI Albany offering family support classes

(ALBANY, GA)- The National Alliance on Mental Illness is bringing families together to help educate each other.

The Albany Chapter of NAMI is starting a week-to-week, family-to-family series of support classes over the next couple of months.

NAMI president, Tosha Dean says that the setting for the families gives them a better chance to learn  how to help loved ones with a mental illness.

Dean tells us, “With families who have family members with mental illness, it helps a lot. They’ll learn about medication, how to talk to family members, and re-direct them. So this is really going to help them a lot.”
