ALBANY, Ga. — According to a press release issued earlier today, the following statistics are the most recent available — updated at Noon on Monday, July 13.
Total COVID-19 Patients in Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital – 50
Total COVID-19 Patients in Phoebe Sumter Medical Center – 4
Total COVID-19 Patients in Phoebe Worth Medical Center – 0
Total Inpatients Recovered – 464
Total Positive Deaths from Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital – 108
Total Positive Deaths from Phoebe Sumter – 32
The release went on to state that due to the increase in cases and revised guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the health care provider will re-institute mandatory temperature checks and screening processes for all patients and visitors entering their facilities. This will begin Tuesday morning, July 14, 2020. Masks are required in their hospitals, clinics and offices and the healthcare provider strongly encourages citizens to wear a mask any time they are in public.
“During our COVID-19 downturn in June, only 6% of the COVID-19 tests administered by Phoebe came back positive. That rate has increased to 11% so far in July, a clear indication that transmission of the virus is picking up in our area, and we urge everyone to take proper precautions,” said Scott Steiner, Phoebe Putney Health System Chief Executive Officer.
