Georgia extradition awaits for 62 year old suspect, accused of online predation

LEESBURG, GA- The Lee County Sheriff’s Office’s Special Victims Unit says a 62 year old Texas man is awaiting extradition to Lee County after his arrest earlier this week on child sex crimes locally.

Deputies say the parent of a 12 year old alerted them to the disturbing online messaging allegedly from Manuel Adams of Sweetwater, Texas.

After weeks of Lee County deputies investigating, Sweetwater Police arrested Adams Tuesday on 3 counts out of Lee County.

The charges include two counts of  sexual exploitation of a child and a single count of obscene internet contact with a minor.

In light of this case, Lee County Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit would like to remind parents about the dangers posed to children on the internet.

The Special Victim’s Unit is grateful the parents contacted law enforcement immediately upon learning of the inappropriate contact providing law enforcement the opportunity to investigate.

Lee deputies also thank the Sweetwater Police Department for their assistance in this investigation, their shared concern and their immediate action in facilitating this arrest.

Lee’s Special Victims Unit says it foresees additional charges for Adams once all of the evidence has been thoroughly reviewed.
