LEESBURG, GA – A Lee County man with multiple convictions for aggravated child sex crimes may spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Friday morning, 64 year year old Paul Jack Shaw was given a life sentence in Lee County Superior Court for his convictions of aggravated sexual battery and aggravated child molestation.

Captain Shawn McTyeire, the case’s lead investigator for Lee’s Special Victims Unit, says Shaw was sentenced to another twenty years of probation for a separate child molestation conviction.

If ever paroled, Shaw would be required to comply with Georgia’s Sex Offender Registry requirements upon his release.

McTyeire says his unit began investigating Shaw back in January of 2017 when they first received the allegations.

But Shaw was able to evade officers until his apprehension on a Webster County farm in July of 2020.

Captain McTyeire extends his special thanks to the The Lighthouse Children’s Advocacy Center in Americus for their services during this investigation as well as other similar cases.
