Irwin County High School Football Coach passes away

(IRWIN COUNTY, GA)- The Irwin County community is mourning the passing of their State Championship winning Football Coach.

In a Facebook post from his wife, she announced that her husband, Coach Buddy Nobles passed away in his sleep Wednesday night.

Coach Nobles had been battling stomach cancer since the Summer.

He was hired to coach the Irwin County Indians in 2014 and was able to be on the sidelines to see the school win their first state championship since 1975.

No funeral arrangements for Nobles have been announced at this time.
