Indianapolis Colts’ Grover Stewart returns to alma mater
ALBANY, GA – One of the most important things a professional athlete can do is come back and give back to their hometown.
That is exactly what Indianapolis Colts defensive lineman Grover Stewart did Friday morning in Albany as he returned to his alma mater to speak with 7 to 14 year olds from the Albany State Youth Enrichment Program to talk about life.
The Camilla native will also make a trip to his former high school of Mitchell County this weekend to host his first ever annual football camp as part of “Grover Stewart Day”.
Stewart is coming off a career year with the Colts in 2022, totaling 59 tackles and four sacks in his seventh season.
Now he not only hopes to do even better in the upcoming season, but also hopes his team can improve from a 4-12 record last year.
Stewart and the Colts will open the season on Sept. 10 against conference rival Jacksonville Jaguars.
