Incorrectly taking out the trash puts Public Works employees at risk

Trash Outside Container

ALBANY, Ga. – Public Works employees are working diligently during this pandemic to ensure services aren’t disrupted.

The City of Albany Solid Waste Division says some residents are leaving bags of trash beside containers instead of properly placing them inside of containers.

Stacey Rowe, Public Works Director, says residents who don’t follow proper protocol are putting their employees at risk of exposure to COVID-19.

The department is reminding people to follow City Ordinance of placing and maintaining waste in the proper containers and bins to keep everyone safe.

The Public Works department serves approximately 37,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers.
