Players union rep speaks out as six Iranian soccer players accept Australian asylum
President of FIFPRO Asia/Oceania, Beau Busch, weighs in after members of Iran’s women’s national soccer team were labeled wartime traitors for not singing the country’s anthem during a match in Australia. Busch says that the women are experiencing an “incredibly difficult time” as concern grows for the safety of the players who returned to Iran.
