It’s still unclear what’s causing a large, multistate outbreak of a gastrointestinal illness in the U.S. Public health officials are interviewing people who have been infected with the parasite to determine what foods they ate before symptoms started, but there’s growing concern over the substantial rise in cases since the start of May. In today’s Health Minute, Mandy Gaither has a glimpse inside one of the testing labs on the front lines of the Cyclospora outbreak and has more on what they’re seeing as cases continue to climb.
