Maternal mental health was once a taboo topic, but now, it’s making headlines. From a high-profile trial of a mother whose attorneys say strangled her three young children while experiencing postpartum psychosis, to the death of actress Hayden Panettiere, who was outspoken about her struggles with postpartum depression. Experts say the focus on the struggles some go through during the perinatal period is long overdue. But, as Mandy Gaither explains, awareness about these conditions, and the resources out there to help those suffering from them are still lacking. It’s today’s Health Minute.
