GOP senator says party should learn from history, not “double down on dumb”

Sen. Thom Tillis pointed to his party’s loss in the 2008 election as an example to learn from, saying the defeat “probably could have been avoided” if Republicans had learned from their mistakes after losing both chambers of Congress in 2006.
