Fugitive father shot dead in police standoff in New Zealand

A fugitive father on the run with three children in the wilderness of New Zealand was shot dead by police, authorities say. Thomas Callam Phillips has been on the run and living off-grid since 2021 with his children. All of his children were found safe and uninjured, according to police.
