This week, California passed first-of-its kind legislation to regulate an AI service called chatbots. Senate Bill 243, authored by State Senator Steve Padilla, requires chatbot operators to safeguard interactions. This includes preventing chatbots from exposing minors to sexual content and requiring reminders for minors that chatbots are AI-generated.
