Actor Riz Ahmed teams up with organizations to offer $25,000 awards to Muslim storytellers

In “Sound of Metal,” Oscar-nominated Riz Ahmed portrays a drummer who loses his hearing. Ahmed points out he’s one of few Muslim actors who play a non-Muslim or unremarkably Muslim role, calling that a lonely “promised land.”
