ATLANTA, GA — The Georgia State House of Representatives passed a bill that would allow for alcohol delivery.

House Bill 879 would allow for restaurants, liquor stores, and even supermarkets to have the option of delivering beer, wine, and spirits to your front door.

As well, the bill would allow for to-go pickup of packaged alcohol at liquor stores.

However, some local restaurant owners are on the fence about the new bill and what it would cost to deliver alcohol.

Owner of Austin’s Fire Grill and Oyster Bar, Austin Newman tells us,””I don’t think I’ve got a warm, fuzzy feeling about it. I don’t know how you do it responsibly. I don’t understand how I can deliver alcohol to somebody’s house and check their ID. How does that work?”

The bill will still need to be passed on a county-by-county basis.
