High speed chase arrest yields pill stash
Crisp deputies estimate street value of drugs approximately $300,00

CORDELE, GA – A Florida man faces multiple charges after an hour long high-speed chase and arrest through two South Georgia counties.
Crisp County Sheriff’s Public Information Officer Haley Little says 32 year old David Howard was arrested Friday afternoon on charges of aggravated assault upon a police officer, trafficking schedule II narcotics, fleeing police and a laundry list of traffic violations.
A Crisp County deputy initially went to check on a black Dodge Challenger that was stopped on Rockhouse Road, when the car sped off and onto Interstate 75, giving way to the chase.
Another Crisp deputy used stop sticks on Highway 41 near Lewis Mill Road in Dooly County in an attempt to take the suspect into custody, but Howard allegedly struck two vehicles in his attempt to flee and crashed.
Both Howard and the other motorist were taken to Crisp Regional Hospital for treatment.
Deputies say they recovered a bag filled with smaller bags of suspected oxycodone pills, with an estimated street value of $300,000.
At last report, Howard was taken to the Crisp County Jail once released from the hospital.
